The Colombian software sector has reported sustainable growth during the past few years in terms of revenue, exportations, and market share and service quality.

The main factors in aforementioned achievements have been due to the fact that the country currently has over 40 CMMI certified companies, it has the lowest piracy rate in the region, it ranks third place in Latin America as far as availability and hand-labor quality, and its wage-related costs for Systems (Computer) Engineers are in line with the regional average. Moreover, it has 550 Gbps connectivity with five internal fiber-optics rings and a strategic geographical location.
